Kitchen Fire Suppression Services
from Total Fire Protection

Complete Fire Protection Starts With the Right Kitchen Suppression Partner

Total Fire Protection provides kitchen fire suppression inspection, testing, and maintenance across New York City, Long Island, and New Jersey: the same self-performed, fully documented service we deliver across every other fire protection system we manage.

If your building already uses TFP for fire extinguishers, sprinklers, or fire alarms, adding kitchen suppression is a simple change that allows you to use one vendor, one point of contact, and one set of compliance records. It also means a more thorough inspection than most providers perform. Here’s what that looks like.

What a TFP Kitchen Fire Suppression
Inspection Covers

TFP performs semi-annual inspections per NFPA 96 and FDNY Section 609. Every inspection includes:

  • Wet chemical agent cylinder, charge and pressure verified
  • Manual pull station tested
  • Detection devices and fusible links checked
  • Nozzle alignment and coverage confirmed
  • Full function test (see below)
  • Complete FDNY-compliant service documentation

Additional Services

We also handle Ansul R-102 installation, system upgrades, hood and duct cleaning, and FDNY violation removal.

What Happens When the Full Function Test Is Skipped

A kitchen suppression system can pass a standard inspection and still fail during a fire. Here's why:

1
1

Grease accumulates inside kitchen suppression lines over time. A standard inspection confirms the system is charged and components are intact, but it doesn't test whether the chemical will actually reach the cooking surface.

2
2

A fire starts at the cooking line. Someone pulls the cord. The system activates… and the chemical doesn't discharge. The lines were blocked.

3
3

When the insurance adjuster arrives, the finding is the same: the system failed because it wasn't properly maintained. The claim is denied.

The full function test is what prevents this. TFP disconnects the cylinder, pushes air through the suppression lines, and places balloons at every nozzle. A balloon that doesn't inflate identifies a blocked line before it becomes a liability. Most vendors charging $200 for an inspection are not performing this step. We do it on every first inspection.

Why Add TFP for Kitchen Fire Suppression

One vendor. One call.

Our technicians already know your property. Adding kitchen suppression means no new vendor relationship to manage, no separate scheduling, no coordination overhead.

Self-performed. Always.

TFP never subcontracts. The technician who shows up is a TFP employee: trained, accountable, and already familiar with your systems.

One point of accountability.

Every inspection generates FDNY-compliant service records. One provider means one contact when the inspector shows up.
